“And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant”

Sometimes life occurs too much on a repeat for us to slow down and think about the good things that are made available to us everyday. We may find ourselves going to sleep at night, waking up in the morning, praying, eating — before eventually leaving the house and going about the work we do. How often do we reflect on how much it is a privilege for us to awake to the rise of a new dawn, or the access to simple meals that can fill our stomachs?

Viewing life as a whole, we may see how things run smoothly as clockwork and as Christians of the true church, having God in our lives may have already been integrated into the way we live. For those of us who found our faith much later, how much time do we spend reflecting on the grace God has extended to us? For the others who may have been raised in a family of True Jesus Church members from a young age, how grateful are we too, that the Word of God has entered the doors of our household?

Paul in 1 Timothy expressed gratitude for Lord putting him into His ministry as an Apostle, ultimately being the channel for many other churches in different cities to learn about His gospel and turn their eyes toward God. He recognised himself as the ‘chief’ of all sinners, previously a persecutor of the Lord, yet — God used him afterward for important work in the ministry.

Though we have been now included in the fold, how can we repay the grace of God that has been flowing so abundantly? How can we like Paul — take pride in the works of gentle correction, evangelism and being ambassadors of Christ to those around us, so that others who may be desperately seeking life’s purpose, may also be filled with hope after knowing the everlasting promise of the almighty God?
