I do, to infinity and beyond.

Ever seen married couples say their wedding promises to each other again? Some couples do this after many years because they want to remind each other, “I still love you, and I’m glad we’re still together.”
Do you know that our relationship with God can be like that too? When we first believed in Jesus, we told Him, “I’m Yours, and I want to follow You.” God promised to love us, help us, and stay with us forever, and we promised to do the same.
Over time, we become distracted by school, friends, games, social media, worries, and fears. Our love for God slowly fades even though God never stops loving us.
That’s why it’s good to “renew our vows” with God. This serves as a reminder to ourselves, “I still love You, God, and I still want to follow You with my whole heart.”
God has comforted us, forgiven us, and brought us joy. Do we remember how He stayed close no matter how far we wandered from Him? Reflecting on all this helps us love Him more.
Everyone renews their promise to God in different ways. Some people spend more time praying, while others worship with more joy, or read the Bible more carefully.
Jesus said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37)
Let’s take a moment to earnestly tell God we still choose Him, and will keep choosing Him over and again everyday.
Family Altar
Use these discussion questions and our prayer as a guide for your family altar.
Parents can lead the prayer and invite their children to repeat after them or encourage their children to take the lead, making family altar time a shared journey of faith.
Discussion Questions:
When did you first feel close to God? How has that feeling changed between then and now?
Share about a time God helped you, comforted you, or showed you His love.
What is one thing you can do this week to show God you love Him (e.g., praying, singing hymns, reading the Bible, being kind, etc.)?
Prayer in Words:
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray.
Thank You for loving us every single day.
Thank You for staying with us even when we forget You.
Today, we want to renew our promise to love and follow You.
Help us grow closer to You and worship You with our whole hearts.
Please show us one way we can love You better this week.
We choose You again today, Jesus.
Hallelujah, Amen.
